WHO IS JOE COOK?
 
Joe Cook is a broadcaster and reporter with a specialty in sports.  His versatility enables him to be a virtual one-man band of broadcasting with his in-depth reporting, thoughtful producing, captivating videography, creative and meticulous editing talents. His skills as a reporter and host continue to develop and flourish in the areas of news and entertainment.

Joe recently spearheaded an outlet for local sports teams that do not receive enough media coverage. It's called The Sports Place of Tidewater. Click TheSpotVa to see more.

Currently Joe is a production assistant for WVEC Ch. 13 a local ABC affiliate in Norfolk, VA.  In addition to his duties at WVEC, Joe is a Postgame Reporter/Host for NSUSPartans.com, the official athletics site of Norfolk State University. Check out his latest interviews and shows HERE.

Leadership comes naturally to Joe Cook. In 2009 he led the Norfolk State University chapter of the National Broadcasting Society (NBS) to win that organization's Chapter of the Year award. Under Joe's leadership NSU became the 1st HBCU in the country to win the prestigious award.

He has been recognized by the BCCA (Black College Communications Association) as a pioneer in convergence journalism by winning the Online Video of The Year Award (2009). 
 
As a member of the noted "200+ Men Inc.", Joseph brings focus, passion and commitment of service to his community through his participation in mentorship programs sponsored by this national organization.

He has done work for ESPNU; WVEC-TV, the local ABC affiliate (Norfolk, VA); the New York Times, LG Studios, and Eduography, an international media company based in Japan.
